Mr. Abd Al-Ghani Attari, Chairman of the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, signed yesterday at his office a joint cooperation agreement with Mr. Ali Faroun, Chairman of the Board of the Palestinian Banking Institution "Rowwad". The agreement aims to contribute to the support and development of the microfinance sector in Palestine, with the objective of empowering small and micro enterprises and expanding the scope of microfinance services in order to achieve sustainable development goals and social justice.
Within the framework of this partnership, the two institutions will work on designing and implementing diversified financing programs and providing capacity-building and advisory services that contribute to supporting the capacities of small and micro enterprise owners in financial management, marketing, and business development, in a way that enhances the chances of success and sustainability of their projects. The agreement also aims to create a participatory environment contributing to the development of the microfinance sector in Palestine.
In view of the foregoing, the agreement was signed in the presence of members of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Mr. Najeh Al-Qadi, Mr. Hussam Qandil, and Mr. Saadi Al-Khalili, as well as the Director General, Mr. Salah Hussein, the Director of Public Relations and Media, Ms. Rasha Assi, and the Head of the Chamber President’s Office, Ms. Mayson Quraan. On the part of Rowwad, the signing was also attended by Mr. Bahaa Al-Sartawi, Board Member, Mr. Mohammad Khair, Director of the Credit Department, and Ms. Leqaa Daher, Public Relations Officer.
